This privacy policy governs your use of the software application MyGreenVoltConnect(“Application”) for mobile devices that was created by Frederic Risacher. The Application purpose is to read information from the On Board Diagnostic port (OBD2) of the Chevrolet Volt or Opel Ampera vehicles. The information is then shown real time on the user's device. The Application also optionally stores the information on the cloud to enable the user to check at a later time the data from a web browser.

What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?

The plug in vehicles mentioned above include a standard OBD2 port which can be used to read data using an OBD2 adapter plugged into the port. This adapter communicates via bluetooth or WiFi to the mobile devices.

Data collected as electric motor current and voltage, Battery state of charge, temperatures of different subsystems is processed and displayed on the user's device. No data is written to the adapter in order to change car's behavior, power or security. Only data coming from the car is queried.

User Provided Information

The Application obtains the information you provide when you download and install the Application. In addition, the user can sign up for providing a username, password, country and car model year. This information is used to create a user account on Amazon Web Services. The user's password is not accessible from the developer or other users. This account is used to store the mentioned car performance and provide a account to get access to this information.

Automatically Collected Information

Information may be collected for performance and debug purposes and only uploaded to the Cloud if the user select to do so (via the upload button in the application settings). The collected information as device type, WiFi adapter name or car's performance do not include any details which could identify the user and is purely related to the application activity.

Does the Application collect precise real time location information of the device?

This Application does not use GPS location.

Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the Application?

THE AUTHOR OF MyGreenVoltConnect Application SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR (1) ANY INACCURACY, ERROR IN OR FAILURE OF THE SOFTWARE; (2) ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES) ARISING FROM ANY USE OF THE SOFTWARE, OR OCCASIONED BY ANY SUCH INACCURACY,
ERROR OR FAILURE OF THE SOFTWARE.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. We will notify you of any changes to our Privacy Policy by posting the new Privacy Policy.
